Sponsors for Hope

Managua Christian Academy will be opening February 2006, with classes from Kindergarten through 7th grade. Before the children are accepted, they must be sponsored. Applications have been taken from the children in the community around the training center and they can be viewed for sponsorship.
For $30 a month, the children will receive his/her uniform which is required by the Nicaraguan government, all their school supplies, books and lunch. Of the $30 you contribute, 100% goes towards the Christian education of the child. Compassion in Action, who will be receiving your contributions, holds nothing back for administrative costs. Thank you for prayerfully considering what the Lord would have you do.
How It Got Started
In January 2003, Compassion in Action saw the need for a school at the Equip training center in Managua, Nicaragua. In February 2006 this dream will become reality. This school will reach out to the children in the community around the training center. As of September 1, there are 74 children pre-registered for classes. The Nicaraguan school year runs from February - November. The school will provide a Christian education for children from Kindergarten through 7th grade in 2006. Lord willing, the school will add an additional grade each year until all grades in primary and secondary school are covered. Schools in Nicaragua run either in the morning or afternoon. The classes at MCA will run from 7 a.m. - Noon. The children will be served a lunch each school day.
In the afternoon electives will be offered in areas such as: Music, Drama, Home Economics, Computers, ESL (English as a Second Language), and Adult Education (reading). Due to the fact that school is not required for Nicaraguan children, some of our children will be studying in grades that do not match their age level. In the afternoons, these children will take extra classes in needed areas to try to catch them up to their appropriate grade level if possible.
The school is financed through sponsorships. Each child must have a sponsor before he is accepted into MCA. The sponsorships are per child and will provide them with their required uniform (one reason why many children are unable to attend public school in Nicaragua), school supplies, and lunch. We invite you to look at the children the Lord has sent to us and prayerfully consider what He would have you do.
